Crabbing Aboard the Marylander with Jason Seman
Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay are world renowned for their crabs. Try your luck with baited hand lines, mesh rings, collapsible traps, trot-lines, and dip nets. You won’t be disappointed.

Crisfield, located in Somerset County, is known as the Crab Capital of the World. These tasty crustaceans make their home across the Chesapeake so don’t miss out on trying to catch them. The blue crab is one of the most important species harvested from the Bay. It has the highest value of any commercial fishery, and supports a recreational fishery of significant, but undetermined, value. Blue crabs are primarily harvested as hard shell crabs, peeler crabs just prior to molting, and soft shell crabs immediately after the molt. Recreational gear includes baited hand lines, mesh rings, collapsible traps, trotlines, and dip nets.
