Management and Leadership

bulletEnvironmental Team: We have all of our executive on this team, along with getting all of our associates involved on this. We will continue to provide friendly service, while offering a superior hotel product, and encouraging guests to protect our environment by utilizing our extended stay light touch program. This program allows our guests and associates pretty much choose how often they receive service from housekeeping, which ultimately saves on energy and water.
bulletSet Annual Goals: We have joined the Maryland Green Travel program and are committed to meeting its core requirements. In addition, we will strive to improve our environmental performance over time and to initiate additional projects and activities that will further reduce our impact on the environment.
bulletList of our environmentally friendly products and services: We currently use Proctor and Gamble for all of our cleaning and housekeeping supplies, which also has an awesome sustainability plan in place for their company.

We have recylcing containers in the back of the house, and for all of our extended stay guest, this has been communicated to them. Our Hilton brand has mandated we purchase recycling containers for all guestrooms, which we are in the process of ordering.

Measurable Results
Since June of 2011, Homewood Suites has achieved the following measurable results: (1) 20% reduction in overall energy usage, including 25% electricity reduction and 15% reduction in gas/fuels; and, (2) 33% reduction in wastes by implementing an effective recycling effort. These reductions were achieved during essentially the same number of occupied room nights.
