Enjoy the Natural Color and Beauty of Maryland

Color Your World in Maryland

        What’s childhood without crayons?

Believe it or not, kids born before 1903 had no idea what a crayon was. It wasn’t until Binney & Smith introduced the first Crayola crayon that children put wax to paper and let their creativity take over from there.

Now more than 100 years and countless pieces of “refrigerator art” later, Crayola’s original eight colors (black, blue, brown, green, orange, red, violet and yellow) have been joined by more than 100 others to create a rainbow of fun.

Maryland is a particularly colorful state, as evidenced by the list of restaurants, lodging sites and attractions with colors in their name. Would you expect anything less from a state whose official flower is the black-eyed Susan, official tree is the white oak and official crustacean is the blue crab?

For more information about these sites or about travel in Maryland, visit www.visitmaryland.org or call 800-519-7900.

        Happy coloring!
