Excellent Seafood on the Water

We went to Captain's Galley on a cold Friday, the night before Valentine's Day. When we asked about items on the menu, our server Wesley was very thorough about answering our questions, My wife ordered the crabcakes, which were as good as any she had ever had. I tasted them and I had to agree with her. They were filled with crab meat, no filler at all. She had a baked potato and fresh green beans on the side. I ordered the rockfish with seasoning. It was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was outstanding. I had a baked sweet potato on the side with the green beans. Although Captain's Galley was practically deserted, we enjoyed the atmosphere. We definitely recommend Captain's Galley as a place for great seafood with a nice atmosphere.
The service saved this from being a one star rating.

The policy of sharing the meal is a joke and quite frankly I have never heard of that before. The waitress was great, very nice but the food was not worth the price. In general West Ocean City has gotten pricey and the quality has not matched the prices. This place has seen better days.

I recently ate here and if you like rubber bands I strongly recommend the calamari, if you like eating butter order the shrimp scampi. When our bread arrived it tasted like it was a few days old and we ate it off napkins due to the fact that they didnt bring plates. I was expecting more from a place that is expensive as this and for a much better meal at a much more affordable cost I would go to harborside next door
Terrible service, ridiculous policy's, and average food

I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. When I ordered my soup and decided to share a meal ($33.00 for 2 crab cakes, coleslaw, and onion rings) with my friend the waitress informed me that there was a charge to share a meal ($ 4.00). Which I thought was kind of rude, then I ordered an additional crab cake as an addition to my meal, I was told that I could not do that and that I had to order another meal. Our food was at best average. I would have thought that a restaurant would want to make customers happy during the very quiet offseason, but it appears that this restaurant is not concerned about business during the offseason. I would have left the restaurant with out eating had I not been out on a very important meeting. I will never eat here again.

This place has ambiance and really great food. However, it is a bit pricey compared to some other restaurants we tried. If you don't mind the prices it is an excellent place to have a delicious dinner. Our's was great !!
