Wow, this good place just got great

Captains Galley has been a favorite of our for a while now for our Ocean City visits. We stopped in last weekend and noticed some big upgrades, the crab cake is still amazing but the fresh cut fries, new cole slaw were unbelievably Awesome. When we asked our server they said they are going to start serving FRESH shrimp, which is hard to find in restaurants, and they told us they work directly with several fisherman to source fresh seafood! It seems like they have upgraded the "fresh" concept. They have always been good, but they seem to be making a conscious decision to make it great. Thanks for the change, we are going to be dining here more often. Kudos to making the decision to go fresh, it tastes so much better.
The best crab cakes on the Eastern Shore

This restaurant has been around for a long time and it's not sleek but the crab cakes are to die for. The view from your table is the active harbor - always entertaining. The salad bar helps slake your appetite before dinner is served piping hot.
Best crab cakes

One of the best places around here to get crab cakes. Great atmosphere, great food, a bit on the pricy side, but well worth it in my opinion. They have all you can eat crabs too. They have awesome cream of crab soup too. One of the best around. We try to go in the off season, as it gets very busy in the summer.
Excellent Seafood on the Water

We went to Captain's Galley on a cold Friday, the night before Valentine's Day. When we asked about items on the menu, our server Wesley was very thorough about answering our questions, My wife ordered the crabcakes, which were as good as any she had ever had. I tasted them and I had to agree with her. They were filled with crab meat, no filler at all. She had a baked potato and fresh green beans on the side. I ordered the rockfish with seasoning. It was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was outstanding. I had a baked sweet potato on the side with the green beans. Although Captain's Galley was practically deserted, we enjoyed the atmosphere. We definitely recommend Captain's Galley as a place for great seafood with a nice atmosphere.
The service saved this from being a one star rating.

The policy of sharing the meal is a joke and quite frankly I have never heard of that before. The waitress was great, very nice but the food was not worth the price. In general West Ocean City has gotten pricey and the quality has not matched the prices. This place has seen better days.
