Trip Advisor Great stay!
May 20, 2013 by: Upala from New York City, New York
We stayed with my parents over the weekend at the Brictoria Cottage and I must say the stay was great in many ways than one! The cottage was spacious for the four of us, with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a nice-size living room and the attached small kitchen. The fridge was well-stocked with breakfast goodies and the bathroom toiletries were of very good quality. The beds were comfy and the overall sense was one of well-being, luxury and peace. There were supermarkets and a Mexican and Chinese restaurant within a 10 minute walk and the food in both the restaurants were definitely above average. We stay in many B&Bs and this surely ranks among one of the best, coupled with the hospitality of the hosts. Also, this is a good base to explore neighboring DC and Annapolis.

Trip Advisor It's Magical

This place renewed my spirit and enlighted my soul. I had the most wonderful time just relaxing and listening the nature. Sharon and Bobby are the great host. What a lovely experience. I will return for sure next year; if not sooner. I"ll say it again " wow what a place".

Trip Advisor A Unique and Delightful Home Away from Home
May 18, 2011 by: morahanma from Burke, Virginia
We couldn't have found a more perfect place for our weekend getaway in southern Maryland. We wanted someplace that was close to historic and recreation sites, yet unique and delightful in itself. Brictoria Cottage was absolutely perfect. We loved the luxury vacation cottage feel, the location -- right off the beaten path, but with a wooded, secluded atmosphere -- and appreciated that we were able to grab a morning cup of coffee and a bite to eat in our own space, before starting the day's adventures. Bob and Sharon are charming and low-key hosts, and we loook forward to returning to Brictoria Cottage, possibly with some grandchildren in tow... There is a loft room available that would be perfect for that!

Trip Advisor Home Away From Home
May 03, 2011 by: SharonJimBella from Glen Burnie, Maryland
My husband and I recently stayed at Brictoria Cottage at Charlotte Hall and immediately felt like we were at home. Our 4-year-old, 5-pound Chihuahua, Bella, was recovering from oral surgery and we just couldn't leave her home, even with loving family. No problem. Bella was welcomed with open arms by our hosts - Bob, Sharon, and their 5 beautiful cats. Hospitality seems to come naturally to Bob and Sharon, thinking ahead of everything that anyone could need or want. They were sitting on the Victorian veranda to greet us as we drove up the tree-lined drive where we found the guest-designated parking spaces right out front. They escorted us inside of the cottage to help get us acquainted. Sharon baked a fresh loaf of cinnamon streusel bread and had it wrapped for freshness and placed in a basket with bananas, English muffins, peanut butter and a variety of jellies in the fully-stocked kitchen. A Keurig single cup coffee maker with coffees to make the perfect cup. Fresh half-n-half was in the side-by-side refrigerator along with a fresh dish of butter, and a bowl of freshly cut up cantaloupe and ripe strawberries. A tea cart was filed with an assortment of gourmet teas and all of the accompaniments you could need. There was even a basket of miniature chocolates for my sweet tooth. With a full-sized electric range, over-head microwave oven, and dishwasher, I could see us here for a much longer visit. There were bottles of local wine to sample along with stemware. If you aren’t familiar with the area, you can find magazines, event calendars, maps, and all kinds of information on what to see and do in the area. The master bedroom was light and airy and the bedding set was elegant and plush. There were plenty of quality matching hangers in the closet too! The bath was large and roomy with plenty of room in the shower – even for the big and tall man. The linens were large and luxurious. A blow dryer was provided as well as a magnification mirror, only found in the luxury resorts. There is a full-size washer and dryer, iron and board. The cottage also has the option of opening the windows or adjusting the heating and air conditioning to your own comfort level. There is a phone pre-programmed to reach your hosts should you need anything at all. Didn’t bring your laptop? No worries. One is provided for your use on top of the large desk. There are more cable channels than you’ll have time watch, but that made my husband right at home while waiting on me to get ready for our outing. In the evenings upon our return, we were greeted by music streaming quietly from the outdoor speaker system, lighted walkways, and candles lit along the veranda. In the morning we drank our coffee on the swing, bench, or veranda listening to the peaceful music. There are plenty of sights to see and no time to get bored; even if you lived there 20 years you couldn’t do it all! I highly recommend Brictoria Cottage for your next visit to Southern Maryland. Tell them Bella sent you!

Trip Advisor Great place to stay

We were in town to celebrate a family member's birthday and could not have chosen a better place to stay than Brictoria Cottage. As other reviewers have noted, the location is peaceful and definately far removed from the "hustle & bustle" of the city. Bob & Sharon are extremely pleasant people and they will take great care of you. We definately recommend staying here!
