Excellent Customer Service of Front Desk Supervisor at American Inn of Bethesda
Apr 17, 2014 by: SunilJP from Los Angeles, California
Excellent customer service by Adeline who is the front desk supervisor. My room was very cold due to the sudden change in weather. I talked to Adeline and mentioned the room heater was not working. She immediately provided a portable heater which made my stay comfortable. I am extremely satisfied with her response. She is courteous and professional. Thank you very much Adeline. SJP

2 nights here, close to metro for easy access to festival in DC. Variety of restaurants to choose from withing walking distance of hotel. Shuttle available if you don't feel like walking to & from the train station & runs every 15 minutes. We use the shuttle on our return trip & drops you off at the back entrance of the hotel. Free breakfast has some varieties to choice from . Wifi work in the room with no problem. Ice machine & vending machines on 3rd & 4th floors only. When we check into our room late afternoon & it was hot. Turn on the air condition to cool it down while we're out but when we got back after 9pm it was still hot. Call down to complained about the room being hot but got a lame excuse of climate change & tell us to open the window which we did & got a restless 1st night. If you keep your window open during the night like we did you're bound to hear traffic during the earlier morning hours. Small bathroom, hit my elbow a few time because the sink is on my left side when you sit on the toilet. Would not recommend 2 double bed for 3 adults. We stay on the 2nd floor, there's construction going on 3rd floor which I notice on my way up getting ice. The construction did not bother us since we were out most of the day & usually return to our room after 9pm.

I spent 10 days at this nice hotel with all comfort I could have. The main reasons for this comment were, undoubtely, the courtesy of all staff the work at that hotel, the breakfast with different juices, fruits, breads, pancakes with jelly, butter, cream cheese, coffe, milk. So good for american standards. Defnitely, the wi fi worked really fine, there was a computer always available to use, with printer beside, if needed, without any charge! Also, they received packages from internet and didn´t charged them also. The hotel is close to the subway station, around 8 minutes walk. If I go back to Washington, I will stay at the same place. The room was always clean, and it had a lot of space. For sure, I recommend it you are traveling alone, in couple, or with your family. That´s it...
Excellent Front Desk Agent

My stay in this hotel would never be great without the very flexible front desk agent Alinea. My room smells smoke and she is the only one working at that time in the hotel. I dont know why they have that such employee scheduling one person at night but Alinea help me with my room and make it smells better. My whole stay is good. I slept well like a baby.

Walking into the hotel was nothing like the pictures. The furniture looked old and there was an odor emanating from, idk, somewhere. We walked into the elevator and pushed the button several times before it decided to light up. When we got to our floor, the first thing I noticed was a vent oozing some moldy looking substance. My bf was trying to be optimistic so I kept on walking. When we got to your room, we had issues with our key card from the start. After attempting multiple cards, an employee had to come up and repair the locking mechanism to let us in. At this point the card began to work fine. The room was small but okay. There was a smell but it was manageable. That night we went out and got back to the hotel around 1:30am. The key card worked on the front door for after hours entry. Once we arrived to our room, the key failed again to open the door. The lady at the front desk was THE ONLY one there and informed us that she could do nothing but give us a different room for the night. Our clothes, tablets, toiletries, medications, and other personal belongings were locked in the original room with no way to access them. To make matters worse, at around 8:20am in the morning, house keeping walked into our room scaring both of us out of our sleep. At around 9:45am we were given access into the room to get our things. Then the front desk had the nerve to call us and tell us check out was at 11am. Worst Stay Ever!
