The hotel was quite good and service excellent. Jose was especially helpful with any problems that occurred from parking difficulties and room problems. He is a very dedicated worker and I found him extremely helpful. I would return to this hotel and he would be just as helpful.
I had a very pleasant stay.

My room was clean all the amenities were taken care of. The front staff were cordial and accommodating to the guests, myself included. Robert there was a good guy and I was thankful for the help. It had catered breakfast, and shuttle service those were very helpful.
Looks can be deceiving!

Online it looked like a very nice hotel, and the description of the place including continental breakfast. The room was super small, breakfast was boil eggs, dry sausage, and cold cereal, and home fries. Only good thing was the coffee. Big disappointment
Good place for the price

My husband stayed here and he liked it. It was just for one night. It was very comfortable. The staff was friendly. Public transportation was close by. For the price, we would stay here again though the rooms are a bit on the small side.

The DC metro area is notoriously expensive and its hotels are no exception. This place is your solution. Their rates are consistently lower than any other hotel in Bethesda (believe me, I've checked) unless you count airbnb (which I'd kind of recommend). The American Inn has everything you need. The internet is fast, the AC is ice cold, the beds are comfortable, there are hair dryers in the room and there's free coffee in the morning in the lobby. There's even a small but adequate workout room (located, oddly, in the garage) and an outdoor pool that is (again oddly) only open in the afternoon and early evening. The location is not great if you're on foot--it's about a mile to the nearest Metro stop. But there's a decent, inexpensive Chinese takeout spot about a block away and there's a convenience/liquor store across the street. Some of the rooms are also quite small but if you're out all day it doesn't make much of a difference. You might not be thrilled but your expense report will be.
