Trip Advisor Friendly staff. Parking not so friendly
Oct 20, 2014 by: Belisaj from Norfolk, Virginia
Staff is awesome. They treat you right and get the job done. I had the opportunity to meet Adeline and Dipshan at the front desk and they were more than helpful with everything. Rooms were great. Offered everything you needed in a safe and sterile environment. Parking was not so great. There were probably at most 20 parking spaces on the ground floor level and when I got to the hotel Saturday evening, they were all taken. They directed us to free overnight parking but it is uncovered in an outside parking lot across the street behind a demolished gas station. Probably about 200 feet from the hotel. Other than that, I would still stay in this hotel if I ever needed to again. Parking wasn't that inconvenient.

Trip Advisor Great staff, spacious room

The staff, location and restaurant was great! Very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and reason for visit. Hotel is in the middle of everything, especially Guapos which is attached to the hotel and has great Mexican food! So for the room you definitely need to be an easy going person or pack your patience! Room 116 was huge....large enough to be two rooms but it is at the end of the hallway near the back door where the Guapos traffic comes and goes. Noise dies down around 9:00 and is really quiet at night and into the morning. Nothing too troublesome, just a heads up if you are hellbent on sleeping at 8pm!

Trip Advisor Good value, excellent staff but rather cramped hotel
Oct 08, 2014 by: Menippus from Wamboin
As other commentators have mentioned, the staff at this hotel are incredibly helpful: nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The hotel also had everything that I needed in basic accommodation: a good range of cable channels; wi-fi that worked well; a safe in the room; a window that opened; there was even a shuttle van. Also the location of the hotel is excellent: a short walk from everything in Bethesda, and also very close to the NIH. Against it, the rooms and the public areas are small, there is just one elevator, and there was sometimes an unpleasant small in the elevator and corridors. All told, for the price and location the hotel is really good value; in addition, the staff give better service than one typically receives in a much more expensive hotel. I'd certainly come back here when my budget was tight, but if I had more to spend, I'd go to one of the larger chains which would offer more space.

Trip Advisor Love these guys...

I am a frequent guest/patient at the NIH (just half a mile away) and the staff at the American Inn go WAY out of their way to make me welcome and comfortable. Front Desk Supervisor Sam is amazing. He remembers me, and finds a way to bring me back. The American Inn has become "my hotel" in the DC area.

Trip Advisor Amazing team at American Inn of Bethesda

The staff at the American Inn in Bethesda were absolutely the best. From check in to departure I was treated with incredible professionalism and friendliness. Special call out to Adeline Yosephine, the Guest Services Manager. Adeline and her team helped me in so many ways.
