Our Hotel of Choice

I have stayed at this hotel for each of my visits to the DC area since 2008, with my most recent stay being July of 2014. My first visit was for business travel but I worked for a family-friendly production company at the time and was able to bring my children along as well. This hotel is a quaint French boutique that is located within walking distance to not only the Metro rail, but plenty of restaurants, a movie theater, a playground, and entertainment. The train ride into DC is easy to maneuver from the Bethesda stop. You are only a short train ride away from the National Mall, the National Zoo, and other DC attractions. As for charm, the rooms are inviting but I'll be honest in saying that over the past 6 years, it appears an update is in order. You can see signs of wear and tear, in the bathroom especially but it is nothing at all that would deter me from staying here. When I travel to DC next year, I will book this same hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is a hotel in my opinion that is perfect for couples or for families of up to 4 with small children. Beyond that, if your family is larger or includes older children who would want their own space, another hotel might be better suited.
Great Location - Outstanding Service

I recently arranged for a group reservation, in connection with a performance at the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club across the street. The hotel has a great rate for those participating in or attending events at that venue. All of the staff, from the Front Desk Clerks to the hotel manager were very responsive and accommodating. The rooms were clean and well appointed. There were plenty of outlets for charging electronic devices. In addition to a desk in the room, they also provided a lap table to make it easier to work away from the desk. As I noted above, the hotel is very convenient to the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club, as well as the Bethesda Metro Station and literally hundreds of restaurants. The hotel has no real restaurant or bar, but they do provide breakfast in a small room off the lobby. If I had an occasion to stay in downtown Bethesda again I would certainly stay at this hotel again.
Average hotel, no charm

I chose this hotel based on the reviews but was disappointed when I came. Everything was pretty mediocre and it felt like a run-down, worn hotel. The room was clean but felt a little depressing, not very pleasant when you're on a short business trip. My room did not have a bathtub, and it had a strange curtain that acted as a closet with a full-size mirror that you would get from Target. Adequate and served the purpose of a bed to sleep on, just not very pleasant and the amenities were much to be desired.

I have stayed at many different hotels across the country and I have to say this was the cleanest place I have ever been. I loved having a nice sized refrigerator and microwave in the room plus a vending area and ice machine on our floor. There was no smoking and this was a real plus. many places say it and then people do it anyway. The gym was clean and the continental breakfast, although not hot, was just fine for a quick grab and go. Staff was so very friendly and helpful. Robert was my favorite! When our smoke detector started beeping because it needed a new battery maintenance was there in just a few minutes. When that didn't fix the issue they just brought a new detector. The noise level inside and outside was very low. Lots of things within walking distance. Only one negative, very small elevator...so we just used the stairs. All in all this was a great place to stay and did I mention it was very clean! lol We will certainly be staying there again when we visit the DC area!!!
