Trip Advisor Stay was great!
Apr 16, 2015 by: travelingtheworld208 from
We were only going to stay two days ended up staying four. The staff is amazing they were extremely nice and helped with everything we needed. The rooms were clean and even though the hotel has some age it was nicely kept. The continental breakfast was great with multiple choices of cereal, sausage biscuits, waffles, juices and coffee. The only thing we didn't like was the restaurant the food was bland and the one waitress kept messing up everyone's order plus the prices are a little high for some items. Overall, I would say this was one of the best places I've stayed at and will so again in the future.

Trip Advisor Ok, Needs some improvement

It needs some improvement. I had no room darkening curtains. the toilet ran. The in-room refridgerator made noise. The staff was very good. Accepts dogs! They have a good location. Nice dog park nearby.

Trip Advisor Comfortable stay

Checked in to this hotel on our way back from Florida while driving on the I-81. It is a very short drive into Hagerstown off of the I-81. There is plenty of parking. The hotel staff was courteous and check-in was quick and simple. We had two double queen beds. The room was clean and adequate for our single overnight stay. The attached restaurant was our choice for a late dinner and the food was quite good with excellent service. It appears the hotel has undergone some recent upgrades, but more are needed and I believe that is their plan. We did hear a very loud thump occasionally during our stay and I believe it must be something on the 5th floor; perhaps laundry equipment or rooftop air-handling units. The 5th floor is not accessible to the public. I did smell cigarette smoke once during the late evening and chalked that up to some disrespectful patron who did not obey the no-smoking rules. The breakfast was decent with a nice area to sit. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Trip Advisor Great service!

My husband and I stayed here on our road trip to Florida. We were easily able to secure a room (March) using one of the discount hotel coupons and received great service from the front desk both on the phone and in person. The hotel lobby is beautiful and we were pleased with our room as well. Someone mentions in a comment below about the smell of old smoke in the hallway and this was something we noticed as well but the room smelled fine and was clean. Bed was also very comfortable and the view was pretty stunning looking out the window at the mountain range early the next morning. We grabbed a quick snack at the on-site restaurant later at night (probably around 10) and the food was fine (diner food) but the access between hotel and restaurant is a little sketchy. Complementary breakfast the next day was your average continental with added hot waffles.

Trip Advisor The Grand

Although this Hotel is 4 or 5 miles from I-95, it is an easy place to find and great with an attached restaurant. the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, efficient and is eager to help you. The mattresses are the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The breakfast is simple but tasty. Waffles, yum, coffee good, bagels, yogurt, but no eggs. Will stay next time I go through.
