A great time at Watwr Park
Nov 25, 2013 by: Francis B from Chesapeake Beach Maryland
This is a great water park. Very clean with lots of guards. Kids place, Lazy River Float, 2 slides, lockers, shower, lots of parking and on premises food. Reasonable priced. Beach chairs and lounges. A family atmosphere with fun for all.
Not a great day

The park was really really busy- they allow far too many people in. The change room facilities are horrendous; they are much too small and were not clean. I think it's awful that you can't bring in your own food and drink. You are really limited in what you can/ want to feed your children. The rental lockers are TINY and really meant for just your wallet/ keys. On the plus side, there were great little foam form water slides for young kids.
Not worth it!!! Overall overcrowded, dirty and stressful!

I won't be back to this place. We were excited about the lazy river only to find that there were about 10-15 inner-tubes for the entire population of the park to share and no time limit. Do the math, 15 tubes- 500 people?? Seriously!! Place was filthy. 3 bathroom stalls. No chairs or any place to sit down. Lockers were only big enough for wallet and phone. Terrible exp. overall!
It's fine w a coupon

Super strict on no food allowed policy, they dug past my change of clothes to the bottom of the bag. Made us dump out water from a baby sippy cup. And throw away 2 bottles of water. They said they supply free water...why spend your money on water ice and cups when I brought mine at no cost to you. Food ridiculously priced. Hot dog $6.45 add $1.00 for fries. Snow cone $3.72 was horrible, had no flavor. Went back to add flavoring and that was worse. I couldn't stand to eat it and the kids barely could. Place needs a good power wash. Not enough chairs. Bring your own... But there won't be a place to put it. Changing facilities inadequate. Should have some dry (non shower stalls). Went w a coupon. Would never pay full price. Great activities for grade school and younger. Teens would get bored. We might go back w a coupon. Store staff (pretty sure her shirt said manager) was pretty non Friendly. Some of the clientele not very polite but most people are. Not very many tubes on lazy river. We got one after a few hours then it was a break (15 minutes of no one in pool), so we never got another.
Did because we were new

We wanted to try this out because we are new to the area. I warned the 10 and 12 year olds that this was not like a 6 Flags or Carrowinds waterpark that they had visited, much smaller. I knew we couldn't bring food/drink in. Based on our day, we did get there right before they opened and there were lines for those already with tickets and another for those without. We had tickets from Groupon and got in quickly and got chairs because other comments about not enough chairs are accurate. If you are going later in the day bringing your own is a great option. People with small children and grandparents were not happy. The day we went was sunny and busy but not uncomfortably so. I can see if you pick the wrong day in the summer it could be a nightmare. The river was still fun, even without a tube. I can see that the number of tubes is a type of crowd control. We did eat hamburgers there and they were fine. There is a staff member grilling them right in front of you and my kids polished them off, not cheap though. Next time we'll pack a picnic and use the shelters in the parking lot. I can see that my kids are about to grow out of it, but I was comfortable letting them roam together because it's not that big, they are good swimmers/rule followers and I could still see them most of the time. I also noted the high number of lifeguards who were attentive. In general it was a pleasant couple of hours and I can see doing it once or twice next summer but don't think a season pass will be necessary.
