Fire on the Mountain Fireworks Display

The Garrett County Chamber of Commerce presents the annual Fire on the Mountain Fireworks Display, sponsored by Hugh Umbel Companies. Fireworks launched from the top of Bear Claw Tubing Park at Wisp Resort out toward the waters of Deep Creek Lake. Viewing spots include the scenic overlook on Rt. 219, McHenry Cove on Deep Creek Lake and businesses in McHenry. Rain date: July 5th.

28th Annual MSO Salute to Independence

Since 1986, the Maryland Symphony Orchestra has presented a free “Salute to Independence” Concert at Antietam National Battlefield near Sharpsburg, MD. Held on the first Saturday of July, the “Salute” has been billed as “Maryland’s Most Patriotic Event” and has also been recognized by the American Bus Association as “One of the Top 100 Events in North America.” The evening concert attracts nearly 35,000 people from all over and is capped off by a spectacular fireworks display, one of the largest in the region. Folk singer/songwriter Jennie Avila will be the MSO’s special guest and perform her original songs of the Civil War. 301-797-4000

The 'Stitching History' Star Spangled Banner Project
July 4, 2013
Come to Fort McHenry to celebrate the Fourth of July and the start of a new community project: the remaking of the original American flag. The project will require over 100 volunteers to stitch the flag over the course of six weeks. The Fort McHenry Fife and Drum Corps will lead a procession carrying the flag materials to the flag pole, where the stitching will get underway. Throughout the day, there will be children's activities, men and women dressed in 1812 regalia interacting with the crowd and singing at the Historic Tavern Tent.

Annapolis Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks

Parade and fireworks: Parade starts at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Parade Route: West Street, around Church Circle, down Main Street to the City Dock. Naval Academy's Concert Band will perform 8:00-9:30 p.m at the end of City Dock. Firework display launches from 9:30-10:00 p.m.

Commemorate Independence Day with live music and celebratory fireworks in the heart of downtown Baltimore. The Ports America Chesapeake Fourth of July Celebration takes place Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 4pm to 10pm. Visitors to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor can enjoy music by reggae band Jah Works starting at 4pm, followed by the U.S. Naval Academy Band Electric Brigade performing Top 40 music at 7pm.  Entertainment takes place at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater, located at Pratt and Light streets.  Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake kicks off the multicolored fireworks display 9:30pm. 

The fireworks can be viewed from several locations in downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods of Federal Hill, Fell’s Point and Harbor East.
